Description

The EmpirBus WDU v2 is a web display unit that turns an EmpirBus digital switching system into a fully customised graphical interface. It serves rich, bespoke HTML5 graphics to compatible Garmin GPSMAP chartplotters and other HTML5 devices, so the vessel's switching, monitoring and control screens can be designed to match the boat exactly rather than relying on a generic layout.

Graphics and HTML pages are created with the web-based EmpirBus graphics application and uploaded to the unit over the Garmin Marine Network or Wi-Fi. The WDU v2 connects to both the NMEA 2000 network and a Garmin chartplotter through the Garmin Marine Network, working at Ethernet speeds, and draws its power directly from the NMEA 2000 network with no dedicated power connection required. Optional Wi-Fi provides a wireless route for configuration and access.
