FFM100-01
The Maretron FFM100 Fuel Flow Monitor converts flow senders into precise fuel or fluid consumption data on your NMEA 2000 network. It uses positive-displacement metering with true temperature compensation for accuracy approaching that of commercial systems. View real-time consumption on any compatible display anywhere on the vessel.

Description

The Maretron FFM100 Fuel Flow Monitor delivers precision fuel-flow information that helps optimise consumption and can save thousands in operating costs. It converts a variety of flow senders, ordered separately to match the application, into NMEA 2000 data that can be viewed on any compatible display. A single sender suits a petrol engine, while dual senders measure supply and return on a diesel engine for true net consumption.

Unlike turbine meters, the FFM100 uses positive-displacement metering technology for superior accuracy and does not require costly flow-conditioning components such as straighteners and pulse dampers. Embedded thermistors provide true temperature compensation, correcting for the hotter return fuel that can otherwise introduce errors of up to 5 percent, and the monitor automatically accounts for momentary reverse flow caused by the injection pump.

Combined with a GPS antenna and Maretron displays or N2KView software, the FFM100 becomes the heart of a complete fuel-management system showing rate, economy, and range so you always know how much fuel remains.

Are the flow senders included with the FFM100?
No. The FFM100-01 is the monitor only. Flow senders such as the M1AR, M2AR, M4AR, M8AR or M16AR are ordered separately to match your engine and expected flow range.
Why do diesel engines need two flow senders?
A diesel engine returns unused fuel to the tank, so one sender measures fuel supplied and a second measures fuel returned. The FFM100 subtracts the two to report true net consumption, correcting for the hotter return fuel using built-in temperature compensation.
Can the FFM100 measure fluids other than fuel?
Yes. By ordering the appropriate flow sender the FFM100 can also monitor fluids such as fresh or sea water and oil, reporting flow rate over the NMEA 2000 network.
