The Garmin GST 43 is a thru-hull paddlewheel transducer that reports water speed and temperature. It measures speed from 0.2 to 30 knots with +/- 1% accuracy and is designed to retrofit an existing Nexus 43 mm thru-hull (TH43). It connects to a Nexus system or, using a GST 10 adapter, to a NMEA 2000 network. This version is supplied without the GST 10 adapter.

Description

The Garmin GST 43 is a thru-hull analogue speed and temperature transducer for sailing and motor vessels. Using a paddlewheel sensor, it measures water speed from 0.2 to 30 knots with an accuracy of +/- 1%, and also reports water temperature, feeding both readings to your instruments. It is designed as a direct retrofit for an existing Nexus 43 mm thru-hull transducer (TH43), making it an easy upgrade for boats already fitted with that mounting. The GST 43 connects to a Nexus system by cutting and wiring its cable, or to a modern NMEA 2000 network using a GST 10 adapter. It fits metal and fibreglass hulls from 6 to 42 mm thick through a 43 mm hole and is supplied with a 6 m (19.7 ft) cable. Water speed must be calibrated before use. This version is supplied without the GST 10 adapter.

What does the GST 43 measure?
The GST 43 uses a paddlewheel to measure water speed from 0.2 to 30 knots with +/- 1% accuracy, and it also reads water temperature.
Will the GST 43 fit my existing thru-hull?
The GST 43 is designed to retrofit an existing Nexus 43 mm thru-hull transducer (TH43), using a 43 mm hole, and suits metal and fibreglass hulls from 6 to 42 mm thick.
How does the GST 43 connect to my system?
The GST 43 connects to a Nexus system by wiring its cable, or to a NMEA 2000 network using a GST 10 adapter. This version is supplied without the GST 10 adapter.
Does the GST 43 need calibrating?
Yes. You must calibrate the water speed before using the GST 43. Water temperature can also be offset if required, using a connected Garmin chartplotter or instrument.
