The Lowrance Hook-4x was a 4.3-inch dedicated fishfinder supplied with a Mid/High CHIRP Skimmer transom-mount transducer. It delivered CHIRP Broadband Sounder imaging with simple keypad control, ideal as a focused fish-finding aid. This model has been discontinued.
Description
The Lowrance Hook-4x was a fishfinder-only unit built around a 4.3-inch colour display and easy keypad operation, supplied with a Mid/High CHIRP Skimmer transom-mount transducer. CHIRP Broadband Sounder technology gave sharper target separation and reduced clutter compared with single-frequency sounders, with fish ID and depth alarms in a rugged, waterproof case.
As a non-GPS unit the Hook-4x concentrated on clear sonar returns rather than charting. It has since been discontinued and is succeeded within the current Lowrance range by the Hook Reveal series, which adds GPS plotting and DownScan imaging.
