Description
The MG Master LV 12V/400A is an all-in-one battery management system for 12 Vdc lithium installations on leisure and commercial vessels. It continuously monitors every connected MG battery module over CAN-Bus, balances the cells and keeps voltage, current and temperature inside a safe operating window. If a parameter is exceeded, the integrated safety contactor opens automatically to disconnect chargers and loads, giving the bank a dependable second layer of protection.
An internal DC busbar sits at the heart of the unit: batteries land on one side and chargers, inverters and electric drives on the other, which cuts cabling and speeds up installation. The main contactor is rated for 400 A continuous, and a single Master LV can manage up to 96 MGLFP120210 modules. RJ45 CAN-Bus with NMEA 2000, SMA and Victron VE.CAN support, plus Bluetooth through the MG Connect app, makes the system easy to monitor, while combined mode lets several units run in parallel for larger, redundant banks.

Which batteries does the Master LV 12V/400A work with?
It manages MG 12 V lithium banks built from MGLFP120210 modules, up to 96 modules per Master LV. Every MG module has its own slave BMS that reports cell voltage and temperature to the Master over CAN-Bus.
How does the Master LV connect into the system?
Batteries connect to the left of the internal DC busbar and chargers, inverters and drives to the right. CAN-Bus over RJ45 links the batteries and auxiliary devices, with NMEA 2000, SMA and Victron VE.CAN protocols supported.
Can I combine several units for a larger bank?
Yes. Two or more Master LV units can run in combined mode to build larger, redundant banks. Add an MG SmartLink MX to merge the data and provide central start, stop and reset control.
