Description
This Ratio Mode 2 charging cable lets an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle fitted with a Type 1 (J1772) inlet charge from an ordinary domestic mains socket. One end presents a Type 1 female vehicle connector, the other a standard domestic three-pin plug, so the car can be topped up wherever a normal wall outlet is available.
An in-cable control and protection device manages the Mode 2 charging session, communicating with the vehicle and guarding the connection so that charging from a household socket is done safely. Rated at 10A and 230V on a single-phase supply, it is a practical back-up or occasional-use cable for Type 1 vehicles.
