Description
The Oceanic Systems 5971 Navigation Light Controller switches and monitors up to eight LED navigation lights over a standard NMEA2000 network, and extends to sixteen or twenty-four lights when one or two 5972 expansion modules are added. Each circuit is continuously checked for LED and wiring integrity, so partial LED failures or wiring faults are detected and an alarm raised. A single calibration button lets the installer set the controller to each LED circuit, and the unit also tracks LED power-on hours, warning when a lamp nears the end of its useful life so that safe visible ranges are maintained.
The controller has local red and green status indicators for each circuit, a manual on/off override per channel and a self-resetting safety fuse on each output, and a full mimic can be shown on any Poseidon screen. It is standard DIN rail mounted with WAGO style cage clamp connections and is designed to IEC60945.

How many navigation lights can it control?
The 5971 controls eight LED lights on its own, and up to sixteen or twenty-four when one or two 5972 expansion modules are added.
How does it help with lamp maintenance?
It tracks the power-on hours of each navigation lamp and warns when a lamp nears the end of its useful life, so lamps can be replaced before their visible range falls below requirements.
What happens if a light or its wiring fails?
Each circuit is monitored for LED and wiring integrity, so partial LED failures or wiring faults are detected and an alarm is raised, with local red and green status indicators per circuit.
