Description

The Oceanic Systems 3420 AC Monitor measures AC voltage, current and frequency and reports them, together with power, across the NMEA2000 network with 1% accuracy. It handles single phase, two phase, three phase and split phase systems, so a single unit can cover shore power, generators and inverters on most vessels. Voltage is sensed by a simple phase and neutral connection to the unit. Current is measured by a clamp-on AC current transformer fitted around the conductor, with no need to break the cable; additional phases use the matching 3423 current transformers. Field wiring uses boat-builder WAGO cage clamp terminals that accept solid or stranded wire from 0.08 to 2.5 mm2 for a fast, secure and vibration-proof connection.

Which AC systems does it support?
It works with single phase, two phase, three phase and split phase systems and reports voltage, current, frequency and power for each.
How is the AC current measured?
By a clamp-on AC current transformer fitted around the conductor, so the cable does not need to be broken. Extra phases are covered by adding 3423 current transformers.
Where should it be installed?
In a protected marine environment such as an engine room, wired and set up according to the user manual.
