Description

The Oceanic Systems 4510 NMEA 2000 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor, with its 4511 probe, measures the wet exhaust gas temperature of a marine engine or generator and reports it directly onto the NMEA 2000 network. It uses a highly accurate Type T thermocouple that reads from -20 to 300 degrees C, so partial cooling water blockages can be seen and acted on before any damage occurs. The probe fits easily into the exhaust hose using a corrosion resistant duplex stainless steel pocket that is sealed against leaks, with a stainless steel sheathed 3 metre screened cable back to the sensor module. A blue LED confirms NMEA 2000 transmission, and readings can be shown on master consoles or on separate alarm panels as part of a complete Oceanic Systems vessel monitoring system.

What does the exhaust gas temperature sensor detect?
It measures wet exhaust gas temperature so a rise caused by a partial cooling water blockage can be seen before the engine or exhaust is damaged.
How is the probe fitted?
The 4511 probe mounts in the exhaust hose using a sealed duplex stainless steel pocket, with a stainless steel sheathed 3 metre screened cable to the sensor module.
Which displays can show the reading?
Any suitably equipped NMEA 2000 display, master console or Oceanic Systems alarm panel can show the temperature reported by the sensor.
