Description
The Ratio MobiBox is a portable Mode 2 charger that lets you top up any hybrid or electric car with a Type 2 (Mennekes) inlet from an ordinary UK three-pin socket. It is the ideal answer for when a public charge point is unavailable, occupied or simply not nearby, giving you the freedom to charge safely at home, at work or on the road with nothing more than a standard wall outlet.
An in-cable control box handles the communication and protection normally provided by a wallbox, guarding against overcurrent, over and undervoltage, short circuit, overheating, earth faults and DC leakage, and restarting automatically after an interruption. The charging current is adjustable between 6A, 10A and 13A from a clear colour LCD screen, so you can match the draw to the socket and avoid overloading the circuit. Housed in a rugged IP44 PC/ABS casing on a five metre cable, the MobiBox is built to travel and to cope with outdoor use.
