Description
The Raymarine RNS-8 (A80732) is an 8-port Gigabit RayNet network switch for large integrated Raymarine chartplotter systems. It features 4 standard Gigabit RayNet ports and 4 dedicated Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) ports. Each PoE port supports PoE Classes 0 to 4 with a maximum of 30 W per port, allowing devices such as the CAM300 marine IP camera and RMK-10 remote keypad to be powered directly through the network cable, removing the need for a separate power supply at each camera or keypad. The RNS-8 also supports networking with Raymarine YachtSense digital control systems and the YachtSense Link marine mobile router.
The RNS-8 is rated IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof and operates from 9 V to 31.2 V dc. It is unmanaged for simple plug-and-play operation, with LED power and port status indicators, and offers remote diagnostics and performance monitoring via a web browser. For extended networks, up to 8 RNS-8 switches can be daisy-chained together. Maximum power consumption is 160 W at 12 V dc and 150 W at 24 V dc with all PoE ports fully loaded, so an appropriately rated high-current power supply must be provided when using all PoE ports simultaneously.
