The Simrad NSO evo3S MPU is a black-box marine processor that lets you build a tailored glass-helm system around your own monitors. Dual iMX8 Quad Max processors drive up to two independent touchscreen displays via HDMI, with the response and smoothness of the NSO evo3S range. The NSO evo3S marine processor is a compact ‘black box’ solution containing two Quad Core processors and the connectivity options needed to integrate and expand your system vessel-wide. Customize it the way you want: add two touchscreen or keypad monitors in your choice of size, with each functioning as a separate multifunction display; connect with a wide range of Simrad and third party accessories from charting, radar and sonar, to autopilot and on-board entertainment, for complete system control from every networked display on board.

What is the NSO evo3S MPU?
It is a compact black-box marine processor unit running dual iMX8 Quad Max processors. You connect your own monitors and accessories to build a modular, vessel-wide multifunction display system.
How many monitors can it drive?
The MPU has two HDMI outputs (each up to 1920 x 1200) and can drive up to two independent monitors. Simrad MO-series touch monitors are supported.
Does the MPU have a built-in GPS or sonar?
No. It requires an external GPS, with position supplied over NMEA 2000, and an external echosounder module or a networked MFD with built-in sonar for echosounder images.
What connectivity does it provide?
Three Ethernet ports (two with Power over Ethernet), one NMEA 2000 Micro-C port, two NMEA 0183 ports and two RS422 serial ports, two composite video inputs, two USB-A ports and an SD card slot. Wi-Fi is not built in and requires an external module on the network.
What is the waterproof rating and warranty?
The MPU is rated IPX2 and must be mounted in a protected location. It is supplied with a 2-year warranty.
