Description

The Simrad RF25 is a medium-duty rotary rudder feedback unit that gives the autopilot computer a continuous, accurate reading of rudder angle. It measures across +/- 120 degrees with an accuracy of +/- 0.25 degrees within +/- 5 degrees of centre, and transmits the rudder angle over SimNet / NMEA 2000 (PGN 127245) even when the autopilot is switched off.

The unit mounts close to the rudder and is mechanically linked to the rudder tiller arm or quadrant using the supplied stainless-steel transmission link and ball joints. It can be installed horizontally, vertically or upside down to suit the available space, and connects with the included 5 m (16 ft) SimNet cable. Built from Arnite PBT with an IP56 environmental rating, the RF25 suits engine-room and lazarette installations on a wide range of vessels.
