Does the V100 system include AIS?
This V100 system is the DSC VHF version with Class D DSC and a built-in GPS processor, but it does not include AIS. The AIS Class B transceiver is a feature of the V100-B variant.
How many handsets and speakers can the V100 support?
The V100 comes with one wired handset and one speaker and can be expanded to eight handsets in total (four wired and four wireless H60) plus up to four external speakers, so you can stay connected from anywhere on board.
Does the V100 need an external GPS antenna?
The V100 has a built-in GPS processor designed for connection to an external GPS antenna such as the optional GPS-500. A GPS source is required for full DSC distress functionality.
Do I need an MMSI to use the DSC functions?
Yes. A valid user MMSI must be obtained from your national authority and entered into the V100 before the DSC functions will operate.
Can the V100 work as an intercom?
Yes. With multiple handsets installed, the V100 doubles as an on-board intercom, and it also offers fog horn, hailer and announce modes through connected speakers.
