Description
The M260 is Garmin's only 1 kW in-hull transducer, supplied here with its fitting kit. It delivers high-power, deep-water sonar performance while shooting its signal through a solid fibreglass hull, so there is no through-hull fitting to drill, no drag and no housing exposed to marine growth or trailer damage.
Operating at 50 kHz and 200 kHz, it reaches depths of 1,800 to 2,500 ft and uses a 19 degree low-frequency and 6 degree high-frequency beam to concentrate energy onto the target for clear bottom and water-column detail. The unit reports depth and terminates in an 8-pin connector on a 39 ft cable.
The M260 accommodates a wide range of hull deadrise angles from 0 to 30 degrees and must be bonded to solid fibreglass no more than 1 in thick; it is not suitable for cored hulls. When connecting to an older 6-pin Garmin sounder, transducer adapter cable 010-11612-00 is required.
