Description

The Garmin VHF 210i AIS is a fixed-mount marine VHF radio with an integrated AIS receiver, displaying nearby AIS-equipped vessels on a connected Garmin chartplotter to improve communication, situational awareness and collision avoidance. Selectable 1 W and 25 W transmit power and standard Class D digital selective calling provide dependable communication and one-touch distress alerts once your MMSI is programmed. The radio is preprogrammed with International, USA and Canada marine channels. Designed for straightforward installation, the VHF 210i AIS connects over NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 so AIS, GPS and DSC information can be shared with compatible chartplotters and multifunction displays. A built-in two-way hailer with foghorn extends communication around the boat, and the removable fist microphone can be relocated away from the radio with the optional kit. The IPX7-rated housing suits console and open-helm installations.

Does the VHF 210i AIS transmit AIS or only receive?
The VHF 210i AIS has a built-in AIS receiver. It displays nearby AIS-equipped vessels on a connected chartplotter but does not transmit your own AIS position. A dedicated AIS transceiver such as the AIS 800 is required to transmit your position.
What is the transmit power and DSC class?
The radio transmits at a selectable 1 W or 25 W and provides standard Class D DSC for distress and direct calling once your MMSI is programmed.
Which marine channels are supported?
The VHF 210i AIS is preprogrammed with International, USA and Canada marine channels.
Can the microphone be relocated?
Yes. The fist microphone is removable and can be relocated away from the radio with the optional relocation kit, and the radio supports an additional microphone.
How does it connect to a chartplotter?
The radio connects over NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183, allowing it to share AIS, GPS and DSC information with compatible Garmin chartplotters and multifunction displays.
