Description
The Garmin gWind Wireless 2 transducer takes the wiring out of wind measurement. Mounted at the masthead, it sends wind speed and angle data wirelessly to a paired Garmin display or WSI connection box, eliminating the need to run cables through masts up to 15 m. It measures wind from 0.9 to 90 knots (0.5 to 50 m/s) and is powered by a replaceable battery whose charge is maintained simply by exposure to light, so it is best stored in a lit location between seasons. When supplied as part of a wind pack, the transducer is paired with its display at the factory; bought separately, it pairs automatically with a compatible Garmin device. The lightweight 320 g unit mounts on a horizontal masthead surface facing the bow, carries an IPX6 rating for protection against heavy seas, and operates across a -20 to 50 C temperature range.
