Description
The Icom HS-98 is a telephone-style handset designed for use with the GM600 and GM800 GMDSS marine radios. Combining the earpiece and microphone in a single familiar handset, it lets the operator make and receive calls in a natural telephone manner, which is well suited to the watch-keeping and routine traffic handled on commercial SOLAS-regulated vessels. As part of an Icom GMDSS station built around the GM600 VHF and GM800 MF/HF transceivers, the HS-98 provides clear, private voice communication at the operating position. It is a dedicated accessory for these GMDSS radios and is supplied separately from the radio.
