Description

The Ray91 is the AIS-equipped version of Raymarine's modular black-box VHF, supplied here as the base station on its own. It adds a built-in AIS receiver to the Ray90 platform, so AIS target data can be shared over the network and overlaid on a compatible Raymarine multifunction display. The hideaway base drives up to two wired handsets via HS1 and HS2 plus a wireless hub for cordless handsets.

It transmits Class D DSC at a selectable 1W or 25W across all US, International and Canadian VHF marine bands, with a 25W / 12W loud hailer and fog horn. A passive GPS antenna connects via the TNC port and the VHF antenna or splitter via the SO239. Networking is over NMEA 2000 / SeaTalk NG (LEN 1) with NMEA 0183 input and output, carrying AIS and position to the helm. Built to IPX6 and IPX7. Handsets, speakers and antennas are ordered separately.

What does the Ray91 add over the Ray90?
The Ray91 adds a built-in AIS receiver to the Ray90 platform, so AIS target information can be shared over NMEA 2000 / SeaTalk NG and overlaid on a compatible Raymarine multifunction display.
Is the Ray91 base station (R70625) supplied with a handset?
No. R70625 is the Ray91 base station on its own. Add a RayMic wired handset (A80289), a wireless handset (R70616) and a passive speaker (A80542) as required.
How many handsets can the Ray91 support?
Up to two wired handsets via the HS1 and HS2 connectors, plus a wireless hub for cordless wireless handsets.
Does the Ray91 need an external GPS antenna?
Yes. The Ray91 base station requires an external passive GNSS (GPS) antenna via the TNC port; Raymarine's A80288 is available as an accessory.
What AIS class is the Ray91 receiver?
The Ray91 includes an AIS receiver (receive only); it does not transmit AIS.
