Description

The Ray53 packs a built-in 72-channel GPS receiver into Raymarine's compact VHF chassis, giving you accurate position data for Class D DSC distress alerting straight out of the box, with no external GPS antenna required. It transmits at a selectable 1W or 25W across all US, International and Canadian VHF marine bands.

The internal GNSS engine tracks GPS, GLONASS and Beidou with SBAS support (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS) for accuracy of better than 5 metres with SBAS. An external passive antenna can be connected via the TNC port where a clearer sky view is needed. Built to IPX6 and IPX7, the Ray53 suits exposed helm and flybridge installations. Connect SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 to a compatible Raymarine multifunction display to share DSC and position across the network; NMEA 0183 and an audio (RCA) output complete the connections.

Does the Ray53 have a built-in GPS?
Yes. The Ray53 has a built-in 72-channel GPS receiver (GPS, GLONASS and Beidou with WAAS, EGNOS and MSAS SBAS), so it provides its own position for DSC distress alerting. An external passive antenna can be connected via the TNC port if needed.
Does the Ray53 receive AIS?
No. The Ray53 does not include an AIS receiver. Within this range the Ray73 and the Ray91 black-box system include an AIS receiver.
What transmit power does the Ray53 have?
The Ray53 transmits at a selectable 1 W or 25 W across all US, International and Canadian VHF marine bands.
Is the Ray53 waterproof?
Yes. The Ray53 is rated to IPX6 and IPX7. Raymarine does not warrant products subjected to commercial high-pressure washing.
Does the Ray53 connect to a Raymarine MFD?
Yes. It connects over SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 to share DSC and position with a compatible Raymarine multifunction display.
