Description
The RF300 rudder feedback (rudder reference) unit transforms the angular travel of the rudder into a frequency signal read by the autopilot course computer, giving the pilot the accurate rudder-angle information it needs for positive, gentle steering. It outputs a polarity-independent two-wire frequency signal (3400 Hz at centre, 20 Hz per degree) over a measured plus/minus 90 degrees of rudder, and is supplied with a stainless-steel transmission link and a 10 m (33 ft) twisted-pair shielded cable. Rated IP56 and able to be mounted horizontally, vertically or upside down, it is the rudder feedback unit fitted to the DD15 direct drive and is supported by the NAC-3 and AC12 / AC42 course computers.
