Description

The Mastervolt MasterShunt 500 is the heart of any battery-powered energy system. This integrated digital battery monitor measures voltage, current, state of charge and time remaining, then shares that information across MasterBus, CZone and NMEA 2000 networks so chargers, inverter/chargers and displays can all respond intelligently. A single MasterBus or CZone cable carries everything the system needs.

Extremely accurate current measurement, combined with battery-specific parameters, lets the MasterShunt determine the precise time remaining. Programmable events and an integrated real-time clock allow full automation, such as starting a generator automatically when the bank runs low or raising a warning at a set depth of discharge. The robust housing isolates the DC connections, and freedom of choice over fuse type, rating and location (T-fuse or ANL, ordered separately) makes installation flexible.

Which networks does the MasterShunt 500 support?
It communicates over MasterBus, CZone and NMEA 2000, sharing battery data with chargers, inverter/chargers and displays across the system.
What battery types can the MasterShunt 500 monitor?
It supports Gel, AGM, flooded (wet) and Lithium Ion batteries, taking battery-specific parameters into account for accurate readings.
What current can the MasterShunt 500 handle?
300 A continuously, with short-term ratings of 400 A for 10 minutes, 500 A for 5 minutes and 600 A for 2 minutes. Multiple units can be installed in parallel for higher currents.
Is a fuse included?
An internal bus bar is supplied. A Class T or ANL main fuse is ordered separately, giving you freedom of choice over fuse type, rating and location.
Can the MasterShunt 500 automate my system?
Yes. Programmable events and an integrated real-time clock allow automation such as starting a generator when the battery bank is low or raising a warning at a set depth of discharge.
