Description
The 213 is the wind sensor that made B&G's reputation offshore. It delivers raw wind speed and angle as a pulse and analogue output to the instrument processor, which is what allows a Hydra, Hercules, H3000 or H5000 system to calculate true wind, tidal set and target boat speed with the accuracy racing crews depend on.
Its appeal is durability and serviceability: the cups, vane, bearings and PCB are all available separately and can be changed at the masthead, so a failure at sea is a repair rather than a replacement. B&G no longer recommends it for new installations - the WS300 and WS700 ranges have superseded it - but it remains fully supported for the many boats still carrying one.
