Description

The Garmin B265LH is a 1 kW bronze thru-hull CHIRP transducer built around an 8-element broadband ceramic array. It sweeps a 42 to 65 kHz low band and a 130 to 210 kHz high band, giving 103 kHz of total bandwidth from one transducer. The CHIRP sweep returns precise target separation and clean bottom definition across that whole range, rather than relying on two fixed frequencies. With 1 kW of transmit power the low band sounds to 3,000 ft and the high band to 1,000 ft, while the narrow beam at both frequencies keeps image detail sharp. The bronze housing installs as an external thru-hull with a High-Performance Fairing and suits fibreglass or wood hulls up to 20 degrees deadrise on boats of 8 m and above. An integral depth and fast-response temperature sensor is built in. The B265LH runs on Garmin chartplotters with a built-in 1 kW CHIRP sounder, or through the Garmin GSD 26 or GSD 25 sonar module.

What frequencies and power does the B265LH use?
It is a dual-band CHIRP transducer covering 42 to 65 kHz (low) and 130 to 210 kHz (high), with 103 kHz of total bandwidth and 1 kW of transmit power.
Does the B265LH need a separate sonar module?
Not necessarily. It runs directly on Garmin chartplotters that have a built-in 1 kW CHIRP sounder, such as the GPSMAP xsv series. Where there is no built-in 1 kW sounder it can be driven by the Garmin GSD 26 or GSD 25 sonar module.
How deep can the B265LH sound?
The low band reaches approximately 3,000 ft and the high band approximately 1,000 ft, depending on water conditions.
How is the B265LH mounted?
It is an external bronze thru-hull transducer fitted with a High-Performance Fairing, for fibreglass or wood hulls up to 20 degrees deadrise on boats of 8 m (25 ft) and above.
Does the B265LH read water temperature?
Yes. It includes an integral depth reading and a fast-response water-temperature sensor.
