Description
The Balmar 621-100-SV is a 100-amp, 12-volt marine alternator from Balmar's top-selling 6-Series. It shares the compact, small-case design of the saddle-mount 60 Series but uses a 1 to 2 inch single-foot spindle mount in the Motorola and Delco style, making it the natural high-output upgrade for engines fitted with a common single-foot alternator. It comes with a single half-inch deep-vee pulley and an isolated-ground terminal, while dual-fan cooling and a high-airflow frame help it maintain output in the heat of an engine compartment.
The 621-100-SV features Balmar's patented Smart Ready internal regulator. If battery loads are relatively small and the engine runs frequently, the internal regulator may be all that is required; vessels with larger deep-cycle banks or a lighter engine duty cycle can add a Balmar ARS-5 or Max Charge multi-stage external regulator for fully programmable, battery-specific charging. Built to USCG Title 33, ISO, SAE and CE requirements, it draws roughly 4.0 horsepower at full 100-amp output and is rated for up to 12,000 alternator RPM.

What is the difference between the 621 Series and the 60 Series?
Both are 6-Series alternators with the same electrical output and Smart Ready regulator. The difference is the mount: the 621 Series uses a 1 to 2 inch single-foot spindle mount (Motorola / Delco style), while the 60 Series uses a 3.15 inch dual-foot saddle mount (Hitachi style). Choose the version that matches the mounting foot on your engine.
Does the 621-100-SV need an external regulator?
Not necessarily. Its Smart Ready internal regulator can support modest loads when the engine runs frequently. For larger deep-cycle banks or lighter engine duty cycles, add a Balmar ARS-5 or Max Charge external regulator for programmable, battery-specific multi-stage charging.
What pulley does the SV version use?
SV means a single half-inch deep-vee pulley. Dual-vee and serpentine (K6, J10) pulley options are also available across the 6-Series if your engine needs a different belt arrangement.
