Description
The Balmar 97XD-24-190 is an extra-large case marine alternator rated at 190 amps on a 24 volt system. It belongs to Balmar's heavy-duty 97-Series and uses braided-stator technology to produce exceptional charging power at low engine speeds. Engineered for extended duty operation, it is well suited to larger diesel engines such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel and John Deere, where it can support substantial 24 volt house battery banks.
The 97XD-24-190 mounts on a 4 inch dual foot (J-180 style) saddle and comes fitted with a K6 serpentine pulley as standard, with a K8 pulley available on request. It uses case ground termination and is rated for operation up to 8,000 rpm. As with the rest of the 97-Series, it is designed for use with an external Balmar multi-stage voltage regulator and meets USCG Title 33 requirements for ignition protection.
