Description
The Balmar XT-SF-250-J10 is a small-case, high-output marine alternator rated at 250 amps on a 12 volt system, the top output in Balmar's flagship XT-Series. Its state-of-the-art braided-wire stator with 96 slots delivers exceptional charging power from a compact frame while running cooler than the earlier AT-Series designs. Producing up to 186 amps at idle, the XT-250 is ideal for large house battery banks, including lithium, on vessels with heavy electrical demand.
This single foot version fits a 1 inch or 2 inch spindle mount and is supplied with a J10 serpentine pulley and case ground termination. The 1 inch Motorola-style mount suits engines such as Westerbeke, Lehman, Hino and Pathfinder, while the 2 inch Delco-style mount suits Volvo Penta, John Deere, Perkins, Mercruiser, Pleasurecraft, Crusader, Indmar, Marine Power and other GM-based engines. The XT-Series includes an internal Smart Ready voltage regulator and is also compatible with Balmar external multi-stage regulation, with dual internal fans for cooling and USCG Title 33, ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 certification.

What is special about the XT-250 at low engine speeds?
The XT-250 delivers up to 186 amps at idle thanks to its braided-wire stator, so it can service heavy electrical loads and keep large banks charged even when the engine is near idle, where a standard alternator would produce very little.
Which engines does the single foot J10 version fit?
