Description
The Garmin VHF 315i is a black-box marine VHF radio designed for vessels that need multi-station communication. It ships with a GHS 11 wired handset and an active speaker, and supports up to three handsets so crew can talk between stations using the built-in intercom. Selectable 1 W and 25 W transmit power and Class D digital selective calling provide dependable calling and one-touch distress alerts once your MMSI is programmed, while a 20 W hailer with foghorn handles dockside and onboard announcements.
The radio mounts out of sight and controls everything from the handset, keeping the helm uncluttered. It integrates with compatible Garmin chartplotters and multifunction displays over NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183, drawing GPS position from the network or an external antenna for DSC position reporting. The IPX7-rated radio, handset and speaker are built for the marine environment, and additional handsets and extension cables are available to suit larger installations.

What is included with the VHF 315i?

How many handsets can the VHF 315i support?
You can connect up to three GHS 11 handsets to the radio, and crew can communicate between stations using the built-in intercom. Additional handsets are available from your Garmin dealer.
Does the VHF 315i need a separate GPS?
The radio requires GPS information for DSC position reporting. You can supply this through a NMEA 2000 network with a GPS source or by connecting an external GPS antenna (not included).
