Description
This is the Garmin gWind masthead wind transducer supplied on its own as a replacement head. The twin-fin design with a 3-bladed propeller and optical sensor reading gives accurate True Wind Speed in lighter air and a stable True Wind Angle, with the propeller staying efficient where a cup design would not.
It mounts on a horizontal surface at the mast head, using an existing pole mount or the supplied bracket, and includes a 25 m cable. A Garmin GND 10 black box bridge is required so the Nexus Network and compatible Garmin chartplotters and instruments can share the wind data over NMEA 2000.
Supplied as the transducer only, this configuration makes it straightforward to replace an existing gWind sensor.
