Description

The Simrad 110WX is a compact ultrasonic weather station that brings live wind, temperature and barometric data to your NMEA 2000 system. It measures apparent wind speed and direction ultrasonically, with no moving parts to wear, jam or ice up, and adds air temperature and barometric pressure readings along with calculated wind chill for a complete picture of conditions on board.

Built around the proven Airmar WeatherStation sensor, the 110WX is housed in a rugged, IPX6-rated enclosure and draws very little power, making it a trouble-free and affordable choice for both sail and power vessels. It outputs over NMEA 2000 (and NMEA 0183), so the data can be shown on Simrad multifunction displays and instruments and shared across the network.

The 110WX is supplied complete with cable, ready to mount on a standard 1 inch by 14 thread pole or mast fitting. Wind data is referenced to the boat, so for true wind a heading and speed source on the network is recommended.

What does the Simrad 110WX measure?
It measures apparent wind speed and direction, air temperature and barometric pressure, and calculates wind chill from these readings.
How does the 110WX measure wind without moving parts?
It uses ultrasonic sensing to determine apparent wind speed and direction, so there are no cups or vanes to wear, jam or ice up.
How does the 110WX connect to my system?
It outputs over NMEA 2000 (CAN) and NMEA 0183, with a NMEA 2000 load equivalency of 1, and is supplied complete with cable.
Is the 110WX waterproof?
Yes, the housing is rated to IPX6 for protection against powerful water jets.
Does the 110WX give true wind?
The 110WX measures apparent wind referenced to the boat; for true wind it should be combined with a heading and speed source on the network.
