Description
The Simrad AP44 is a dedicated autopilot control head for boats running a Continuum steering system. Its optically bonded 4.1-inch colour display, push-to-enter rotary dial and four-button layout put auto-steering within easy reach, so you can free your hands from the wheel and adjust course in one- or ten-degree steps without taking your attention off the water. Day and night colour modes keep the screen readable from dawn to dusk.
Beyond simply holding a heading, the AP44 gives one-touch access to automated turn patterns, No Drift steering that compensates for wind and tide, and depth contour tracking for following the seabed. Connect a compatible Simrad chartplotter and the controller adds waypoint and route navigation, while certified NMEA 2000 networking ties the head to the autopilot computer, heading sensor and rudder feedback anywhere on board.
Engineered for open-helm use, the AP44 carries an IPx7 waterproof rating and a low-profile glass-helm form factor that flush-mounts neatly alongside Simrad instruments and multifunction displays.
