The Simrad NSO evo3S 16-inch MFD is the heart of a glass-helm navigation system, built around a fast iMX 8 six-core processor for rapid, smooth operation. Its Full HD SolarMAX IPS touchscreen stays clear from wide angles and through polarised sunglasses, with up to six split-screen panels. Wired Ethernet, NMEA 2000 and built-in Wi-Fi connect radar, sonar, autopilot and mobile devices across the vessel.

Description

The Simrad NSO evo3S 16-inch display puts an iMX8 six-core processor behind a SolarMAX IPS glass helm, delivering up to twice the CPU performance of its predecessor for smooth screen transitions and instant access to charts, radar and sonar. The ultra-bright 1200-nit Full HD touchscreen stays clear in direct sun and through polarised sunglasses, with wide viewing angles and the option to combine up to six panels in a split-screen layout. Low-profile glass styling conceals the core and complements any helm.

Built-in wireless links the display to mobile devices for remote viewing and easy software updates over any internet hotspot. Wired Ethernet, NMEA 2000 and J1939 networking open near-limitless integration, from vessel-wide display systems to radar, sonar and engine data. As a black-box-style MFD it needs an external GPS for position and an external or networked sonar module for echosounder.

Does it have a built-in GPS or sonar?

No. The evo3S requires an external GPS for position, and an external echosounder module or a networked MFD with built-in sonar to display echosounder images.

What wireless and networking does it offer?

It has internal Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth, three 100 Mbit Ethernet ports, one NMEA 2000 Micro-C port and four NMEA 0183 ports, plus HDMI in/out, two composite video inputs and three USB-A ports.

Are charts included?

Yes. It comes pre-loaded with C-MAP coastal charts for the AMER region plus a world basemap. Additional charts can be loaded on a microSD card (max 32 GB).

What is the waterproof rating and warranty?

The front is rated IPX6 when panel mounted; the rear is not waterproof. The display is supplied with a 2-year warranty.

Is this the display only?

Yes. It ships with a suncover, black and silver bezels, power and NMEA connector blocks, an Ethernet adapter, cable retainer and panel mounting kit. A GPS antenna and remote controller are not included.
