The B&G Halo20 is a compact 20 inch pulse compression dome radar that gives unrivalled short-range detection with up to 24 nautical mile range, ideal for sailors who want dependable close-quarters awareness. As an all solid-state radar it is radiation safe and InstantOn, so there is no warm up and no high-power transmission. Simple harbour, offshore and weather modes, MARPA target tracking and guard zones make it easy to use, and it is supplied with a 20 metre radar cable.

Which displays is the Halo20 compatible with?
The Halo20 connects over Ethernet to compatible B&G, Simrad and Lowrance multifunction displays such as Zeus and Vulcan. Some older displays may not support Halo dome radars, so check your display software is up to date. The radar does not need NMEA 2000 or heading data for MARPA to work.
What is the difference between the Halo20 and the Halo20+?
Both use the same 20 inch dome. The Halo20 is the 10 W model with 24 nm range and 20 to 24 RPM rotation. The Halo20+ steps up to 25 W for 36 nm range, adds VelocityTrack Doppler, target separation control, faster 60 RPM rotation and a blue accent light.
What is in the box and is a cable included?
The Halo20 comes with the radar dome, mounting bolts and washers, the interconnection cable, an Ethernet adapter, a waterproof cable boot, a cable retainer kit and the documentation pack. Longer interconnection cables up to 30 m are available as an option.
Is the Halo20 safe to mount close to people?
Yes. As a low-power solid-state radar the Halo20 is radiation safe, with an independently measured RF safe distance of 0.0 m. This makes it well suited to smaller yachts where the dome may be close to the cockpit or deck.
How high should the radar be mounted?
Mount the dome high above the keel line with a clear all-round view, but not so high that close-range performance suffers. The vertical beam extends 25 degrees above and below horizontal, so raise it on a pedestal where a hard top would block the beam, and keep it at least 0.7 m from a compass.
