Description
This is the Garmin gWind Wireless masthead wind transducer supplied on its own as a replacement head. It removes the need to run wires down the mast: the twin-fin design with a 3-bladed propeller and optical sensor reading transmits wind data wirelessly, giving accurate True Wind Speed in light air and a stable True Wind Angle.
An integrated solar panel keeps the internal batteries charged, with a service life of around three years and easy replacement. Wind data reaches the boat through the included WSI connection box and a Garmin GND 10 black box bridge, allowing the Nexus Network and compatible Garmin chartplotters and instruments to share it over NMEA 2000.
Supplied as the transducer only, this configuration makes it straightforward to replace an existing gWind Wireless sensor.
