Description
The Icom IC-M510E (IC-M510 EVO) is an award-winning fixed-mount VHF/DSC marine radio that brings smartphone connectivity to the helm. Using the dedicated RS-M500 app for iOS and Android, up to three smart devices can act as a wireless microphone or remote controller over the radio's built-in WLAN, and an intercom function links your phone to the radio, so you can make calls from inside the vessel or out on deck. The iF Design Award 2022 winning body installs in either panel or trunnion mount and looks at home on a modern black-glass dashboard.
Built-in NMEA 2000 provides plug-and-play integration with an MFD and other electronics, while built-in Class D DSC with a dedicated distress button continuously monitors Channel 70 for safety. A loud 25 W two-way hailer and 20 W RX hailer drive an optional horn speaker for deck communication and foghorn patterns, and Active Noise Cancelling keeps speech clear without shouting. A wide-viewing-angle colour TFT LCD, integrated GNSS receiver, simplified navigation function and rugged IP68 waterproofing complete a versatile, connected radio. This is the non-AIS version; an integrated AIS receiver variant is also available.
