Description
The Garmin B117 is a low-profile bronze thru-hull transducer that performs well at high speeds, making it a strong choice for fibreglass and wooden hulls with a shallow deadrise of 0 to 7 degrees. Its narrow-stem housing keeps drag low, while the dual-beam 50/200 kHz element returns depth and water-temperature data with a wide 50 kHz beam for coverage and a narrow 200 kHz beam for bottom detail.
The bronze housing must not be used on metal hulls, where galvanic interaction can corrode the boat or the transducer. It terminates in an 8-pin Garmin connector on a 39 ft cable; when used with a 6-pin Garmin sounder, adapter cable 010-11612-00 is required. Supplied with installation hardware and instructions, which should be followed carefully to avoid damaging the hull.
