Description
The IC-M85E is a compact, professional-grade handheld that works as both a marine VHF radio and a simple Private Business Radio (PBR), making it an unusually versatile choice for commercial operators, port teams and onboard crews. Despite a robust, modern body it is one of the smallest and lightest hybrid marine/land-mobile radios of its kind, yet it still delivers 700mW of loud audio for clear communication in noisy environments.
Alongside standard marine VHF channels the IC-M85E covers 136 to 174 MHz PMR frequencies, with up to 100 programmable channels each supporting CTCSS and DTCS tones (an appropriate licence is required). A built-in voice scrambler keeps conversations private, while MOB Alarm, Man Down and Lone Worker functions add safety for working users by automatically triggering an emergency alarm. Built to IP67 and MIL-STD-810G, it endures dust, 1m submersion for 30 minutes and tough handling. A multi-function button gives instant access to channel-group or scrambler control, and internal VOX, AquaQuake, priority scan and Dual/Tri-Watch round out a serious commercial feature set.
