Description

The Oceanic Systems 4291 4-20mA Tank Level Adaptor converts the output of a 4-20mA pressure sensor mounted in a tank into a standard NMEA2000 tank level message. It suits fuel, fresh water, waste water, live well, oil and black water senders, and is switch settable for up to twelve different tank types. It can also be factory or user calibrated to any tank shape or capacity using an Oceanic Systems display set up for that data. Two LED indicators are provided: a blue LED that flashes as each message is transmitted, and a red LED that shows if the sensor connection is open or short circuit. The 4291 has a standard Micro-C male plug for the NMEA2000 network and 6.35 mm FASTON connectors for the sensor. It is ruggedly constructed in ABS, rated to IP67, and should be installed in a suitably protected location within two metres of the 4-20mA hydrostatic pressure sensor.

What does the 4291 do?
It converts the signal from a 4-20mA tank pressure sensor into a standard NMEA2000 tank level message, and is switch settable for up to twelve different tank types such as fuel, water, waste, oil and black water.
How close to the sensor must it be?
It should be mounted in a protected location within two metres of the 4-20mA hydrostatic pressure sensor.
How does it show a fault?
A blue LED flashes as each message is sent, and a red LED lights if the sensor connection is open or short circuit.
