The ARCO Zeus A7000-24V is a large-frame 24V high-output alternator built for fast-idle and cruising speeds, generating over 6kW (about 218 amps) below 6,000 RPM. It peaks at 284 amps cold at 27.5V and holds a sustained 220 amps while cruising, letting one engine replace a separate generator on demanding marine systems. This isolated-ground version uses a 3.15 inch dual-foot saddle mount with a rear-exit B+ post to fit post-2013 Yanmar common-rail engines.

Description

The Zeus A7000-24V is the high-RPM member of the ARCO 24V range, tuned to pour out power once the engine is running at fast idle or cruise. Where the LTO model favours low-speed charging, the A7000 rewards higher shaft speeds with very large sustained output, so it suits fast boats and heavy 24V banks that need bulk charging in a hurry rather than a separate generator. It is a native 24V machine with a large 138mm stator, 80A avalanche diodes and an E-coat finish that helps it shed heat and hold output. ARCO rates the hot figures conservatively, after a full hour at 3,000 RPM under a plexiglass heat shield rather than in cool ambient air, so the cruising numbers reflect real engine-bay conditions rather than a bench test. Like all Zeus alternators it is externally regulated and needs a dedicated controller such as the ARCO Zeus Bluetooth regulator to manage charging and run lithium safely. This version is supplied with an isolated ground and a 3.15 inch dual-foot saddle mount with a rear-exit B+ post for post-2013 Yanmar common-rail engines. It is SAE J1171 certified and made in the USA.

Does this alternator include a regulator?
No. Every ARCO Zeus alternator is externally regulated (EX), so it has no built-in regulator and will not charge on its own. It needs a dedicated external regulator, and ARCO recommends the Zeus Bluetooth Alternator Regulator, which is designed to get the most from the alternator across 12V to 48V systems and is essential for safe lithium charging.
Is the A7000 better for idle or cruising charging?
The A7000-24V is optimised for fast idle and cruising speeds rather than low-RPM charging. It generates over 3kW (about 109 amps) just below 3,000 RPM and around 6kW (218 amps) under 6,000 RPM, so it rewards higher engine speeds with very large output. If most of your charging happens at low idle, the Low Turn On A4000 is the better match.
What do the hot output figures mean?
ARCO publishes deliberately conservative hot ratings. Instead of testing in cool ambient air, it runs the alternator for a full hour at 3,000 RPM under a plexiglass heat shield, with the stator reaching around 305F, far harsher than the industry-standard 140F ambient test. The hot cruising and idle figures therefore reflect what you can expect in a hot engine bay rather than an optimistic bench number.
Which engines does this version fit?
This version has a 3.15 inch dual-foot saddle mount with a rear-exit B+ post and an isolated ground, designed to fit post-2013 Yanmar common-rail engines.
