Description

The Garmin ECU 10 is the electronic control unit at the heart of a Reactor 40 hydraulic autopilot system. It connects to and powers the course computer unit (CCU), the autopilot sensor that determines heading and rate of turn, and drives the hydraulic pump based on that data to steer the boat. The ECU connects directly to the boat battery and accepts a wide 11.5 to 30 Vdc input protected by a 40 A blade-type fuse, suiting 12 and 24 V installations. Its fully-gasketed, high-impact aluminium-alloy housing is rated to IPX7 and can be mounted on a flat surface facing any direction, provided it is kept out of the bilge and within 0.5 m of the pump, as the pump-to-ECU cables cannot be extended. The ECU 10 is the hydraulic control unit used in Reactor 40 hydraulic corepacks.
