Description

The Mastervolt Mass 48/50 is a 48V battery charger delivering up to 50A from a single-phase 230V AC supply (180 to 265V, 50/60 Hz). As part of the Mass series, it is engineered for the toughest professional, semi-professional and recreational conditions and provides dependable round-the-clock output even in extreme environments. It is a strong choice for charging larger 48V banks of 100 to 500 Ah on commercial vessels, superyachts and demanding off-grid systems.

A lightweight, anodised aluminium casing houses internal components coated to withstand damp and condensation for a longer lifespan. The automatic IUoUo three-step+ characteristic charges Gel, AGM, wet and Lithium Ion batteries, while integrated MasterBus connectivity provides central, local or remote monitoring and control over a single cable. The Current Control function safeguards fuses during voltage dips, and several chargers can be switched in parallel where extra capacity is required.

What input supply does the Mass 48/50 use?
It runs from a single-phase 230V AC supply, with a working range of 180 to 265V at 50/60 Hz.
What size battery bank can it charge?
It delivers 48V at up to 50A and is rated for battery banks from 100 to 500 Ah.
Can it charge Lithium Ion batteries?
Yes. It uses an automatic IUoUo three-step+ characteristic for Gel, AGM, wet and Lithium Ion batteries, communicating directly with Lithium Ion batteries over MasterBus.
Can it be used in parallel with other chargers?
Yes. Parallel switching is possible using multiple Mass chargers, and the Current Control function prevents fuses blowing if the input voltage drops.
Is it certified for marine use?
Yes. It complies with CE, ABYC A-31, RRR and RMRS, and is GMDSS compatible to help meet SOLAS regulations.
