Description

The Balmar Max Charge MC-612-DUAL is a multi-stage voltage regulator designed for single-engine, dual-alternator installations where both alternators charge the same large battery bank. It provides two field output connectors, two power input connectors and two system ground connections, so both 12-volt externally regulated P-type alternators can be driven from a single regulator without splitting and splicing field wires. Its microprocessor-controlled charging ramps gently to full bulk voltage, then reduces to absorption and float for a complete, controlled charge. User-selectable programs cover deep cycle flooded, standard flooded, gel, AGM, spiral wound AGM and LiFePO4 batteries, along with a universal default program and a program for vessels running voltage-sensitive halogen equipment. When used with optional MC-TS-A alternator and MC-TS-B battery temperature sensors, the regulator monitors temperature and adjusts output accordingly, and the flexible sensing configuration lets you monitor either two alternators and one battery bank, or one alternator and two battery banks. It also features Balmar's Belt Load Manager to limit field output and protect drive belts. This version is supplied complete with two wiring harnesses for connecting both alternators.

What is the MC-612-DUAL-H for?
It is a 12-volt multi-stage regulator for single-engine installations that use two alternators to charge the same large battery bank. Its dual field outputs drive both alternators from one regulator, so there is no need to split and splice the field wire. This -H version includes the two wiring harnesses required.
What comes in the box?
The MC-612-DUAL-H is supplied with the regulator and two wiring harnesses, one for each alternator. Alternator and battery temperature sensors (MC-TS-A and MC-TS-B) are optional and purchased separately.
Can it monitor two battery banks?
Yes. Using the optional temperature sensors, the flexible sensing configuration lets you monitor either two alternators and one battery bank, or one alternator and two battery banks, depending on which setting best suits your installation.
