Description

The Simrad AP48 is the premium dedicated control head for Continuum autopilot systems, built for responsiveness and ease of use in all conditions. A large aluminium rotary control dial sits alongside dedicated port and starboard dodge keys, letting you nudge the set heading by one or ten degrees at a time without leaving the helm. The optically bonded 4.1-inch colour display delivers more than 600 nits of brightness and 80-degree viewing angles, with day and night colour schemes for clarity around the clock.

Through its intuitive interface the AP48 gives full access to advanced Continuum steering features, including automated turn patterns and No Drift steering that holds course against wind and current. Multiple control heads can share a single system, and software is kept current by USB. Certified NMEA 2000 networking connects the controller to the autopilot computer, heading sensor, rudder feedback and compatible multifunction displays.

Glass-helm styling and an IPx7 waterproof rating make the AP48 suited to exposed helm positions, where it flush-mounts cleanly or fits an optional bracket.
