Description

The Long Stroke Linear Drive Module is the electric drive motor at the heart of a Raymarine Type 2 mechanical linear autopilot drive. Driven by the autopilot's actuator control unit, it operates a push and pull linear drive through a gearbox to move the boat's rudder via the tiller arm or quadrant. This long-stroke module corresponds to the long-stroke (400 mm / 16 in) linear drive configuration.

An electro-mechanical clutch allows the drive to freewheel for smooth hand-steering when the autopilot is disengaged. This unit forms part of an Evolution or SmartPilot autopilot system and is intended as a drive motor for the corresponding Type 2 linear drive.
