Description

The MG Master HV is the safety and control unit for high voltage lithium battery systems, suitable across a wide 48 Vdc to 900 Vdc range with a 300 A continuous rating. Each battery string is managed by its own Master HV, and strings are paralleled to scale both voltage and capacity, so system designers gain real flexibility for electric and hybrid marine propulsion. Unlike the low voltage Master LV, it carries two safety contactors, one in the positive and one in the negative power path, plus an integrated High Voltage Interlock Loop (HVIL) that opens the contactors in hardware, independently of the software. Amphenol PowerLok power connectors with integrated HVIL and low contact resistance carry up to 300 A continuously, while the built-in pre-charge circuit brings load and battery voltages together safely before the contactors close. The Master HV constantly monitors all battery parameters, tracks State of Charge and State of Health, and logs daily reports and fail-safe events to internal memory for retrieval with the MG Diagnostic Tool or the Energy Portal. CAN-Bus communication (NMEA2000 and J1939 compatible) links it to a vessel EMS or PMS, and an IP65 rated enclosure with DNV-GL, Lloyd's and ES-TRIN type approval suits demanding marine installations.

What voltage systems is the Master HV designed for?
It is a high voltage BMS for lithium strings from 48 Vdc up to 900 Vdc, with a maximum voltage of 900 Vdc. Each string needs its own Master HV, and you connect strings in parallel to scale both system voltage and capacity, which suits electric and hybrid marine propulsion.
How does it differ from the low voltage Master LV?
The Master HV is built for high voltage strings and adds dual safety contactors in both the positive and negative power paths, an integrated High Voltage Interlock Loop, Amphenol PowerLok connectors and an IP65 enclosure. The Master LV covers 12 V to 96 V systems only. This model is rated 300 A continuous.
What marine approvals does it carry?
The Master HV holds DNV-GL, Lloyd's and ES-TRIN (IEC-EN62619) type approval. The DNV-GL and Lloyd's approvals apply in combination with MG RS-NMC batteries, with approval for newer MG batteries in progress. CAN-Bus is NMEA2000 and J1939 compatible for EMS or PMS integration.
