Description

The MG Master LV 24-48V/1000A is the all in one battery management system for low voltage lithium installations, rated for 24 V and 48 V systems with a 1000 A main safety contactor. It is the control and protection heart of an MG lithium bank, continuously monitoring every cell and module over CAN-Bus through each battery's built-in slave BMS. When any parameter moves outside the safe operating window, the internal safety contactor opens automatically and disconnects all chargers and loads, giving reliable second layer protection for demanding marine propulsion, hybrid and house bank duties. An integrated DC busbar, pre-charge circuit and fuse holders for up to eight MEGA-fuses make for a compact, plug and play install with far fewer external components. Cell and module balancing maximises usable capacity and extends battery life, while CAN-Bus communication (NMEA2000 capable) ties the system to chargers, inverters and third party displays. Bluetooth and the MG Connect app give direct insight from a phone or tablet, and combined mode with a SmartLink MX lets several units build large, redundant banks. This version uses M12 CAN connectors for a rugged industrial connection.

What batteries does the MG Master LV 24-48V work with?
It manages MG lithium banks at 24 V or 48 V, supporting up to 48 RS series modules or up to 96 LFP, HE, UHE or HP modules. Each MG battery carries its own slave BMS, and the Master LV collects that data over CAN-Bus to protect and balance the whole installation.
Do I need extra components to protect the battery bank?
The Master LV is an all in one design with an integrated DC busbar, pre-charge circuit and fuse holders for up to eight MEGA-fuses, so most installs need very few external parts. MG recommends high breaking capacity fuses on the battery side and a MEGA-fuse on each positive charger or load terminal.
Can I combine several Master LV units for a larger or redundant bank?
Yes. Using a SmartLink MX and the software combined mode, two or more Master LV units run as one large, fully scalable bank with built in redundancy, which is common on marine propulsion and large off-grid systems so the battery stays operational even if one string drops out.
