Description

The MG Master LV 24-48V/1000A Pc+ is the all in one battery management system for 24 V and 48 V low voltage lithium installations, built around a 1000 A main safety contactor. As the control and protection heart of an MG lithium bank, it continuously monitors every cell and module over CAN-Bus through each battery's built-in slave BMS, and opens its internal safety contactor automatically to disconnect chargers and loads whenever a parameter leaves the safe operating window. The Pc+ designation marks an uprated pre-charge circuit, with a maximum pre-charge capacity of 1.83 F at both 24 V and 48 V, well above the standard model's 250 mF at 48 V. This lets the Master LV safely pre-charge larger DC-link capacitances, such as big inverters and electric drives, without contactor sparking or welding. An integrated DC busbar, fuse holders for up to eight MEGA-fuses, cell and module balancing, NMEA2000 capable CAN-Bus over M12, and Bluetooth with the MG Connect app round out a compact, plug and play install suited to marine propulsion and hybrid systems.

What does the Pc+ designation mean on the Master LV 24-48V 1000A?
Pc+ marks an uprated pre-charge circuit. This unit pre-charges up to 1.83 F at both 24 V and 48 V, compared with 250 mF at 48 V on the standard model, so it can safely bring larger DC-link capacitances such as big inverters and electric drives up to voltage before the safety contactor closes, avoiding sparking or welding.
How is it different from the standard MGMLV481002?
Electrically the two are the same 1000 A, 24 to 48 V M12 BMS. The only difference is pre-charge capacity: the Pc+ (MGMLV481003) is rated 1.83 F at both 24 V and 48 V, while the standard MGMLV481002 is 1 F at 24 V and 250 mF at 48 V. Choose the Pc+ when the connected inverter or drive has a large input capacitance.
What batteries and system sizes does it support?
It manages MG lithium banks at 24 V or 48 V, up to 48 RS modules or 96 LFP, HE, UHE or HP modules, and can be combined with further Master LV units through a SmartLink MX to build large, redundant banks for marine propulsion and off-grid use.
