Description

The MG Master LV 72-96V/500A is the all in one battery management system for 72 V and 96 V lithium installations at the top of the Master LV low voltage range, built around a 500 A main safety contactor. It is the control and protection heart of an MG lithium bank, monitoring every cell and module over CAN-Bus through each battery's built-in slave BMS. If any parameter leaves the safe operating window, the internal safety contactor opens automatically to disconnect all chargers and loads, giving dependable second layer protection for electric marine propulsion and large off-grid systems. With three MG batteries in series you build a 72 V system, or four in series for 96 V, ideal for CAN-Bus controlled high voltage chargers and electric drives connected to the integrated DC busbar. The built-in pre-charge circuit, fuse holders for up to eight MEGA-fuses and cell and module balancing keep the install compact and reliable, while NMEA2000 capable CAN-Bus over M12, Bluetooth and the MG Connect app provide monitoring and control. Add strings in parallel and combine units with a SmartLink MX to grow capacity and add redundancy. At 4.6 kg it is a light, space saving controller.

How many MG batteries do I need for a 72 V or 96 V system?
Put three MG batteries in series for a 72 V system or four in series for 96 V. The Master LV 72-96V then controls a CAN-Bus high voltage charger and electric drive on the same internal DC busbar, and you add further strings in parallel to increase kWh.
What is the maximum current and battery count?
The unit has a 500 A main safety contactor and manages up to 48 RS series modules or up to 96 LFP, HE, UHE or HP modules, monitoring and balancing every cell and module over CAN-Bus.
Can I build a redundant 72 to 96 V bank?
Yes. With a SmartLink MX and the software combined mode, two or more Master LV 72-96V units run as one large, fully scalable bank with redundancy, so propulsion and off-grid systems stay operational even if one string is isolated.
