Description

With its 9 inch, 1280 x 720 IPS panel, the Raymarine Alpha 9 Performance Display (E70650) puts big, bold sailing data where the whole crew can read it. The screen reaches 1500 nits, keeps its contrast through polarised sunglasses and wide viewing angles, and its HydroTough nano-coated glass resists impacts while repelling water and smudges.

Fit it flush or surface mounted at the helm, drop it into the cutout left by an ST60, i50, i60 or i70 series instrument, or take it up the mast with the optional single and dual brackets in portrait or landscape. One waterproof cable, available separately in lengths from 1 m to 10 m, supplies both power and RayNet data, and four displays can run from a single daisy chained feed with up to ten on one network.

An Axiom or Axiom 2 Series chartplotter running LightHouse 4 v4.7.172 or later is required: it feeds the Alpha its wind, speed, depth, navigation and engine data, and from Alpha 3.0 the display doubles as a full Evolution autopilot controller.

Does the Alpha Performance Display work on its own?
No. The Alpha is not a standalone product. It must be networked to a compatible Raymarine Axiom Series or Axiom 2 Series multifunction display (Axiom 2 Pro, Axiom 2 XL, Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro or Axiom XL) running LightHouse 4 v4.7.172 or later. The chartplotter acts as the data hub and also gives remote control of brightness and page selection.
What cable does an Alpha display need?
A combined power and RayNet cable, sold separately, available in 1 m (A80752), 3 m (A80709), 5 m (A80753) and 10 m (A80754) lengths. The cable's bare ended wires connect to a 12 V or 24 V supply and include a waterproof holder with an 8 A inline fuse. Additional displays connect with a 0.3 m (A80710) or 1 m (A80747) daisy chain cable.
How many Alpha displays can I connect together?
Up to 4 Alpha displays can be daisy chained in a series from one power feed, and up to 10 Alpha displays can be connected per network. Size the inline fuse to the chain: 2 A for one display, 4 A for two, 6 A for three and 8 A for four.
Can I control my autopilot from an Alpha display?
Yes. With an Evolution Series autopilot and a LightHouse 4 multifunction display (v4.7.172 or later), the Alpha can act as the pilot controller once Control pilot from chartplotter(s) is enabled in the MFD settings. It supports engaging and disengaging the pilot plus Steer to Heading, Steer to Navigation and Steer to Wind modes.
Where does the Alpha get its wind, speed and depth data?
From the sensors connected to your chartplotter network. Raymarine pairs the Alpha with sensors such as the RSW Smart Wind transducer and the DST810 smart transducer; their data reaches the Alpha through the networked Axiom chartplotter over the single RayNet connection.
Can Alpha displays be mounted on the mast?
Yes. Optional single and dual mast brackets are available in portrait and landscape for both sizes. Alpha 7 brackets suit mast diameters from 90 mm to 150 mm and Alpha 9 brackets from 120 mm to 210 mm, and brackets for the same size and orientation can be stacked into arrays.
