Simrad GS25 GPS Antenna

000-11043-00
The Simrad GS25 is a combined GPS antenna and heading sensor that delivers fast, accurate position, speed and magnetic heading over NMEA 2000. It feeds 10 Hz position updates and rate-of-turn data for smooth chart and radar overlay. Fully waterproof, it pole or surface mounts on any vessel.

Description

The Simrad GS25 is a combined GPS antenna and solid-state heading sensor designed for navigators who need rapid, accurate vessel position and heading. Built on the same platform as the Point-1, it delivers position updates of up to 10 Hz with 3 m horizontal accuracy, along with magnetic heading, rate of turn and roll and pitch data, so your chart and radar overlay stay aligned at any speed.

The GS25 connects directly to any compatible Simrad multifunction display or NMEA 2000 network, providing both a position source and a heading source in a single unit. The internal heading sensor is calibrated from a connected display, instrument or autopilot controller, and where more than one heading source is present the system selects the configured compass source automatically.

Fully waterproof to IPX7 and supplied for pole or surface mounting, the GS25 is suited to power and sail vessels alike. Please note this product is not suitable for use with MARPA.

Does the GS25 provide heading as well as position?
Yes. The GS25 is a combined GPS antenna and heading sensor. It outputs magnetic heading, rate of turn and roll and pitch data in addition to position and speed, which keeps chart and radar overlay aligned at any speed.
How accurate is the GS25?
The GS25 provides 3 m horizontal position accuracy, heading and rate-of-turn accuracy of +/- 3 degrees, and roll and pitch accuracy of +/- 1 degree at 30 degrees.
How does the GS25 connect to my system?
The GS25 connects to a NMEA 2000 network and works with any compatible Simrad multifunction display. It provides both a position source and a heading source on the network.
Does the heading sensor need calibrating?
Yes. The built-in heading sensor should be calibrated before use to compensate for local magnetic fields on your vessel. Calibration is carried out from a compatible display, instrument or autopilot controller.
Is the GS25 waterproof and how is it mounted?
The GS25 is waterproof to IPX7 and can be pole mounted or surface mounted using its 1 inch 14 TPI thread.
